The Jungfrau region is the most wonderful alpine summer holiday destination. You can hike, bike, swim, play tennis, paraglide, climb, visit the Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn, play golf near Interlaken and sail on Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. Or, just relax on the sun terrace and soak up the sun.

The summer season starts in May, as the alpine meadows burst into bloom. Flowers and orchids cover the slopes all around Chalet Zapfe through June and July. Then it’s Village Day, National Day followed by the Mendelssohn music week in August and the Inferno Triathlon. In September take part in the Jungfrau Marathon, running from Interlaken up to Kleine Scheidegg, and as September moves into October enjoy watching the leaves change colour and try some of the local 'hunting menus'.

Swiss Railways offer various special tickets which will enable you to tour not only the local area but also further afield - perhaps Gstaad, Luzerne or Bern.

Chalet Zapfe is the perfect spot to enjoy the alpine summer. Surrounded by blossoming hay meadows and the occasional cow or two, the sun terrace is a wonderful place to relax, unwind and perhaps enjoy a sunset BBQ.

During the day there are a myriad of sporting and more leisurly pursuits: gentle strolls around Wengwald, the Eiger trail and new Laubenhorn trail, mountain biking, hang gliding, mountaineering ......

Not forgetting the trips to Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn ......
